As some, if not all, of you dear readers are aware, I have up and moved to Amsterdam for academic pursuits. (One can read more about the program here)
I’ve been challenged by some of my cohorts back in
Calgary to do the following:
1) Actually update this blog on some sort of frequent basis
2) Swerve away from just music, and actually recount my life in my new city.
3) Somehow make it worth your while to read.
#3 may be tricky, but I think I can manage the first couple.
I have also decided to start a
Project 365 to chronicle this first year in Amsterdam. I started snapping a picture a day on Septermber 1 and I can say that it’s tougher than you think to actually manage a picture a day, every day without fail. Check it out here:

If you really just want more tunes, have no fear I’m working on setting up category specific RSS feeds. I fully acknowledge that unless I really amp up the pace of these posts it seems moot to do this, but the IT nerd in me sees an opportunity to fiddle…
And just in case you were looking forward to tunes, here are a couple of music videos that I stumbled upon this week:
The first is from
Gare du Nord a dutch Jazz band who are apparently coming to town October 1st, so perhaps you will hear more about them in a few short weeks. The video is a lovely little stop motion number, though truthfully I found the audio more compelling, and ‘watched’ the video a number of times throughout the day, behind other windows…
The other video is really quite well done. Its a sort of moving sketch style.
More info after the jump.
