It’s Folk Fest Time Again!

It’s that time of the year, yesterday was day one of the folk fest, with a really fantastic set by the Avett Brothers closing down the night. I’ve got no footage to share from last night, but if you’re new (or already familiar but a fan) to the Avett Bothers, spend 15 odd minutes and watch the Tiny Desk Concert they put on for our friends over at NPR down south.

Folkin’ Around in 2009

Probably my most returned to track, from one of my favorite albums of the year is by Mumford and Sons.  The Cave is a good example of a Mumford song, catchy yet a touch dark, and full of literary influences.
It is this literary element that makes “The Bookshop Acoustic Sessions” work so well with their music. The boys tune up and play a set in a tiny, but not cramped, London bookshop. The video is a one camera number that really captures the intimacy of the location.

Check out a bonus from the bookshop sessions after the jump.
